MetaMask is pulling Wyre from its aggregators amid reports that it will be shut down

Cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask has stopped supporting the services of cryptocurrency payment platform Wyre, amid reports that Wyre plans to halt operations soon.

MetaMask took to Twitter on Jan. 5 to announce that it has removed Wyre from its mobile aggregator, which allows users to buy cryptocurrency directly through their digital wallet.

“We are currently working on removing the add-on and appreciate your patience.” MetaMask told and asked users not to use Wyre on the mobile aggregator.

According to the announcement, MetaMask still supports a number of other payment gateways, including Transak, MoonPay and Sardine. The services are available in Apple Pay, bank cards and wire transfers, MetaMask noted.
