Hackers stole $8 million worth of crypto from Bitkeep wallets

While many are still enjoying the holidays, pirates are hard at work. Drains about $8 million in crypto in BitKeep Wallet Attack.

On December 26, some users of BitKeep’s multichain wallet reported that their funds were drained and transferred while they weren’t using their wallet. On its official Telegram group, the BitKeep team has confirmed that some APK package downloads have been hijacked by some attackers. And they were installed with code planted by hackers. wrote:

“If your money has been stolen, the app you download or update may be an unknown version (unofficial version) that has been hacked.”

As the hack continued, the BitKeep team encouraged its users to transfer their funds to a wallet from official sources such as Google Play and Apple’s App Store. Apart from this, the team also asked community members to use new wallet addresses. Because their previous addresses could already be “leaked to hackers”.

To aid in the investigation, the BitKeep team asked affected users to submit relevant information via a Google form they provided.
